Mallu Accent to be Patented
Trivandrum, Aug 30th 2008 : The communist government in Kerala celebrated a major victory yesterday when the famous Kerala way of talking, popularly known as the ‘Mallu’ accent got a geographical indications patent registration. Baby George Maathukutty, the lawyer appearing for the state of Kerala said that this would put to an end the widespread misuse of the Mallu accent – to entertain, ridicule or embarass.
“The Kerala accent is one of the most easily recognisable of the English language, perhaps after the French”, Baby said, speaking to Utopia. After the Kancheepuram Saree, Kolhapuri Chappal & Nagpur Orange, the Mallu Accent is one of the more prominent patent registrations from India.
Answering a question as to what this means to the common Malayalee, going about daily life calling for an ootto or doing an ‘yemmbeeyae’ or running a coffee shop on the moon, he said “This does not affect any naturalised Malayalee. However, anyone exploiting it for a commercial intent – whether it is forwarding another of those Mallu accent jokes, or portraying a Madrasi sidekick in a movie – will have to pay royalty to the state of Kerala”.

Malayalis cannot be hurt by anything related to their accent. It is a well known fact.
i hope u all find the accent of all other indians perfect.. look at the pathetic way even many of the famous indian cricket players speak.. have u seen f1?? listen to the way most of them speak after a race.. mallus are far better tan tat. anay v r the ones with the best grammar!!listen to a tamilians eng,,, zero is ‘jeero’ for them, auto is aato for them!!! modern mallu accent is better than any others in all parts of world
